Sanctuary Retreats is set to open a brand-new luxury tented camp, Sanctuary Tambarare, at the foot of Mount Kenya.

The camp, which had its opening delayed in 2020 due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, will now re-open on June 1 next year.

Sanctuary Tambarare looks out across the grassy plateau of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, offering ten luxurious guest tents – each with a private veranda.

The camp is easily accessible from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport with flights taking about 30-40 minutes landing at either Nanyuki Airstrip or Kamok Airstrip.

Sanctuary Tambarare’ guests can explore Ol Pejeta Conservancy with guided daily game drives. In addition to the Big Five and many other animals, the conservancy is home to over 130 black rhinos.

Children aged six years and over are welcome at Sanctuary Tambarare.
