Ethiopian Airlines has announced plans to inaugurate three new domestic airports and begin scheduled passenger services to them by mid-April 2026. The new airports will be at Negele Borena, Gore Metu, and Debre Markos, and Ethiopian plans to operate three weekly passenger flights to each destination, expanding its domestic network to 26 airports and enhancing air connectivity across Ethiopia. Mesfin Tasew, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, stated that the development is a major milestone and reflects the airline’s commitment to improving national connectivity, boosting regional economic growth, and making efficient air travel accessible to more communities.
