Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp is now offering a new hike through Kenya’s Soysambu Conservatory called the Sleeping Warrior Hike, which will explore Sleeping Warrior Hill in the heart of the Rift Valley. The day-long event begins with hikers travelling by Landcruiser to the bottom of the hill where the hike begins. From that point, hikers will get gorgeous views of Lake Elmenteita to the north and the Eburru Hills to the south. The Gilgil Hills stretch out to the east and the view to the west offers vistas of the Mau Ranges.

At the summit of the hill, hikers descend to the southern end of the lake through the dry salt pans where a picnic lunch is served. Then hikers are taken by Landcruiser to visit the pelican breeding grounds before arriving back at camp early in the evening.
