Travellers to Uganda to track gorilla families will now have access to two additional gorilla families to track and view, with 17 total gorilla families now part of the program. Two new gorilla families have now been habituated – that means, they are now used to the presence of humans. The families were habituated by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), with one group in Buhoma and another in Nkuringo.

Visitors and tour operators should book tracking permits through the UWA reservations department.
