With the re-opening of Rimoi National Reserve in Elgeyo/Marakwet County by Tourism Cabinet Secretary Jajib Balala, Kenya now has another area that tourists can visit. This little known reserve is home to East and Central Africa’s large herd of elephants and as peace slowly returns to this area, this reserve was last month restocked with zebra and other wildlife will follow. Other animals already resident in Rimoi include dik diks, guinea fowls, warthogs, baboons and a huge variety of bird species.
