Beginning in June, Kenya Airways (KQ) will fly seven times per week from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City. The route is serviced by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner and is being increased to take advantage of the busy summer travel season. Flights between Nairobi and New York began on in September 2017 and have changed frequency in the past as the travel season picked up and slowed down. Sebastian Mikosz, CEO of Kenya Airways, said “The New York route continues to be a strategic one for Kenya Airways, and we are firmly committed to it as we gear up for the summer season.”
