Kenya Simplifies Travel with Pan-African Visa-Free Policy

24th October, 2025 12:26:19

Kenya has expanded its Pan-African visa-free policy in 2025, allowing citizens from nearly all African countries—including South Africa, Namibia, Seychelles, Gambia, Uganda, and Zambia—to enter without a visa. Exceptions are Somalia and Libya, which require additional security checks. This initiative aims to boost regional tourism, foster economic growth, and strengthen African unity. For travelers from outside Africa, Kenya uses an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) system for fast, digital pre-approval. The reform simplifies entry, reduces bureaucracy, and positions Kenya as a modern, accessible, and technology-driven gateway to the continent. Tourism, culture, and business sectors are expected to benefit significantly from the policy.
