Volcano Safaris has developed a new eco-tourism project in the Kyambura Gorge in Uganda – walking safaris. The goal of the project is to draw tourists to the area with an exciting new adventure while keeping the Kyambura Gorge as untouched as possible through community and conservation activities. The aim of the new walking safaris is not just to increase tourism, but also to protect the wildlife – including birds and chimpanzees – that call the area their home. The founder of Volcano Safaris Praveen Moman said “We have assembled four sites next to the Gorge to protect it: the Lodge, the Conservation Centre, the 3km buffer along the northern side, and the wetland which had an illegal brickworks.

We have also created a number of projects to support conservation and communities, and a number of new walking safaris.”
