On 10th February 2026, tourism ministers of all countries that are part of Southern African Development Community (SADC) held a virtual meeting, led by South Africa’s Minister of Tourism, Patricia de Lille, to assess and evaluate the progress of SADC Tourism UNIVISA pilots and also address some of the key strategies that will see regional travel enhanced in Southern Africa. This meeting, which saw participation of tourism ministers or their representatives from 14 member states and SADC itself, touched on the importance of cooperation in terms of promoting regional tourism.
