Uganda and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have begun implementing a bilateral visa-free travel agreement that allows holders of diplomatic and service passports from both countries to travel between them without visas, effective from 10 February 2026. Under the deal, UAE nationals with diplomatic, special, ordinary, or service passports can enter and stay in Uganda visa-free for up to 90 days, while Ugandan nationals with diplomatic and service passports enjoy visa-free entry into the UAE for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. The agreement, signed on 7 May 2025 and now ratified, aims to facilitate official travel and strengthen diplomatic and bilateral ties, though ordinary Ugandan passport holders must still follow standard visa procedures when visiting the UAE.
