Also during the luncheon at Royal Orchid, the corporate clients were introduced to Rickshaw’s anti-poaching campaign aptly named #wachapoaching. Wacha is the Swahili word for stop thus stop poaching. The logo and hashtag #wachapoaching is part of Rickshaw’s Corporate Social Responsibility to create awareness amongst our clients and we have asked all to use the #wachapoaching hashtag on different social media platforms to reach as many people as we can.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has just overseen the burning of 120 tons of ivory at the Nairobi National Park after the Giants Club summit on illegal wildlife trade that took place at the Mount Kenya Safari Club which was attended by celebrities and dignitaries from around the world. The summit addressed the poaching crisis in Africa and working towards a lasting solution for the conservation of the continent’s wildlife.
Also in the news is a partnership between Tanzanian and Kenyan conservationists together with a US-based university to source for DNA material for 200 species of birds and animals highly targeted by poachers for commercial purposes.
