To attract tourists who are interested in more than beautiful beaches and fascinating safaris, Tsavo National Park has opened a new tour for history buffs interested in how World War I was fought on its grounds. The First World War, which began in 1918, was the longest war on East African soil and in Kenya, it mostly took place on the grounds of the expansive Tsavo National Park.

The new tour package will include visits to war zones at Mwashoti Hill, which now includes a cemetery for British and German soldiers, and the Voi-Taveta railway, which was originally built by the British to fight German soldiers at Salaita Hill.
