Zanzibar Tourism Promotion Centre (ZPTC) has made its foray into India by opening an office in Mumbai – the first one outside Africa – indicating the importance it places on the growing Indian outbound market. In Mumbai, it will be headed by Jilesh Babla, Director of ZTPC India.

The five-member delegation from Zanzibar was in Mumbai to meet key trade partners including airlines, travel associations and even film and TV biggies like director Kunal Kapoor and Chef Sanjiv Kapoor.

The ZPTC has signed an MoU with the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) as well as the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) on April 2, 2015 for jointly promoting the destination through their respective members.

It has also signed an MoU with the Indian Merchants Chamber (IMC) for encouraging trade and business in Zanzibar.
