Day 01:
Addis Ababa
- Arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport
- Welcome and transfer to hotel by Absolute Ethiopia Tours staff
- Optional sightseeing with national guide (depending on arrival time)
- Visit to the National Archaeological Museum, home to 3.5 million-year-old bones of Lucy
- Explore ancient exhibits that reflect Ethiopia as the \"Cradle of Mankind\"
- Tour of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, known for its stunning stained-glass windows and important tombs
- Visit to Merkato, the largest open market in Africa, where a variety of goods are sold

Day 02:
Gondar
- Early morning breakfast
- Transfer to Addis Ababa (Bole) int. airport for flight to Gondar
- Surface transfer to Simien Mts. National Park (135km\/2.3hrs)
- Visit former Felasha (Ethiopian Jews) village at Wolleka (5km)
- Stopover at Kossoye viewpoint (40km)
- Pass through villages of Ambagiyorgis and Davat
- See local traders and their dula (wooden stick)
- Stop at Sankaber (3,250m) for spectacular mountain scenery
- Watch Ghelada Baboons and observe their foraging habits
- Take a short walk to a waterfall
- Lunch and dinner included
- Overnight stay in Simien Mts. National Park
Day 03:
Gondar
- Morning at Simien Mountains
- Drive back to Gondar
- Visit Royal Enclosure or Fasil Gibbi and explore castles
- Visit Fasiladas Palace
- Visit Quskuam Church
- 2-km drive to visit the bath of King Fasilides
- Visit Debre Berhane Selassie Church with its murals and angels on the ceiling
- Enjoy traditional Ethiopian music at Four Sisters and try dances
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner included
- Overnight stay in Gondar
Day 04:
Addis Ababa
- Transfer to Gondar Airport for return flight to Addis Ababa
- Check into hotel for day use
- Shopping in Addis Ababa or additional sightseeing
- Visit to Entoto Hills for historical and cultural experience
- Stop at roadside stalls for fresh Ethiopian coffee
- Optional visit to Shero Meda Market for traditional clothing
- Cultural evening at a restaurant with traditional dances and Tej wine
- Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Day use at Bonanza Addis Hotel
- Departure transfer to airport for flight home

Notes

Notes Generally the best time to visit Ethiopia is between October and June, when it is the dry season. Rains tend to stop in early October, meaning afterwards the highlands are lush and green – perfect for trekking amongst pretty wildflowers that have sprung up. Be sure to bring a sweater all year round due to the elevation.
