Nduli Airport in Iringa has been upgraded at a cost of TZS 60 billion ($3.1 billion Kenyan shillings) to establish an aircraft hub in the Southern Highlands. The inauguration was conducted by the Deputy Minister of Transport, David Kihenzile, in conjunction with the country's prime minister, Mwigulu Nchemba, on 24th May.
The upgrading comes at a time when the current administration of President Samia Suluhu Hassan has focused its efforts in improving multilateral transportation networks that would support the growth of tourism and business. The improved accessibility to Nduli Airport will boost the number of tourists visiting the Southern Highlands.
