From 1 August 2026, Egypt will begin replacing traditional visa stickers with a digital QR code visa-on-arrival system at Cairo International Airport. Eligible travellers will be able to complete their visa process electronically, making arrivals quicker and more efficient. The initiative marks a significant step in Egypt's digital transformation and is expected to be gradually expanded to other airports across the country.
