Kenya’s Lake Nakuru has been named second most beautiful spot across the globe by the world’s reputable scientific and educational institution, the National Geographic.

The Lake inside Nakuru National Park in a review released by National Geographic on Thursday November 19, 2015 was listed after Christmas Island in Australia where visitors get to see the annual migration of crimson red crabs.
“In the heart of the Kenyan Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuru hosts one of the greatest bird spectacles on the planet as hundreds of thousands of greater and lesser pink flamingos flock, in blankets of pink, to the water’s edge to feed on the lake’s algae”, National geographic said. “Pops of colour worth travelling for.“
Kenya Wildlife Service describes Lake Nakuru as “the birdwatcher’s paradise” that lies on the floor of the Great Rift Valley surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland.
“Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching, hiking, picnic and game drives.”
