  • Day 01:

    Addis Ababa

Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed with traditional Ethiopian hospitality by our VIP meet-and-greet team. After receiving assistance through immigration, you will be escorted to the terminal parking area where your driver will be waiting to transfer you comfortably to your hotel. Following check-in, the remainder of the day will be at your leisure, allowing you to relax, settle in, and gradually acclimate to the pace and atmosphere of Ethiopia.
  • Day 02:

    Addis Ababa

Today, we will visit Entoto Mountain Park, where we will enjoy a unique panoramic view of the city. While in the park, we will dine at Kategna Restaurant, experiencing an authentic Ethiopian lunch accompanied by a hands-on injera baking session. This interactive activity allows us to prepare our own injera while learning about the traditions and cultural significance behind Ethiopian cuisine.

Afterward, we will continue to Weyba Tis Spa for a refreshing and traditional wellness experience. Weyba Tis, meaning “Sacred Water,” is an ancestral Ethiopian steam therapy infused with aromatic herbs. The treatment is designed to rejuvenate the body, promote relaxation, and relieve muscle tension.

In the evening, Addis Ababa comes alive with beautiful city lights. We will conclude the day with a lively welcome dinner at an elegant venue alongside our professional guide, marking the beginning of an immersive and meaningful journey with Leswa Ethiopia Tour.
  • Day 03:

    Jinka

This morning, we will fly south to Jinka, the administrative capital of the South Omo Zone. Upon arrival, we will drive to our nature-inspired lodge and settle in. In the afternoon, we will visit the South Omo Research Center, located on a hill overlooking the northern part of the town. The museum offers valuable insight into the 16 different cultural groups that inhabit the South Omo region.

Later, we will enjoy a relaxed evening of cultural storytelling with local women, creating a meaningful exchange of experiences and perspectives.

The Ari Tribe, one of the largest ethnolinguistic groups in South Omo, is well known for its expertise in agriculture and honey production. While many Ari people in Jinka now wear modern clothing, those in rural areas continue to dress in traditional garments made from leaves such as enset and koicha, often adorned with decorative arm and waist beads.
  • Day 04:

    Jinka

After spending the night in Jinka, we will begin our journey to Turmi. Along the way, we will stop at Key Afer, an important town known for its vibrant weekly market. This market brings together various ethnic groups from the surrounding Omo Valley region, offering a rich cultural experience.

In recent years, some members of the Mursi Tribe—who traditionally lived deeper within Mago National Park near Jinka—have relocated closer to the Key Afer area. As a result, visitors now have the opportunity to meet and interact with the Mursi people without traveling far into the park. This provides a unique chance to learn about their culture, including distinctive traditions such as the clay lip plates worn by women.

After the visit, we will continue our journey toward Turmi.
  • Day 05:

    Turmi

This morning, we will drive to visit the Karo Tribe in the Kolcho settlement of Murulle. The village is located on a scenic sand cliff overlooking the Omo River. The Karo people are well known for their elaborate body painting, and visitors may have the opportunity to participate in this unique cultural activity.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Hamar Tribe, one of the most distinctive groups in the South Omo region. They are recognized for their elaborate costumes, including beaded ornaments, thick copper necklaces, and distinctive facial features. Hamar women are especially notable for their traditional hairstyles, with thick plaits of ochre-colored hair arranged in heavy fringes, along with goat-skin garments worn as aprons from the neck down. During the visit, we will attend the Evangadi dance ceremony and learn about the cultural symbolism behind their art and traditions.

Afterward, we will return to our lodge and spend the evening reflecting and bonding over the day’s cultural experiences.
  • Day 06:

    Turmi

Today, we will continue our cultural exploration of the Omo Valley with a visit to the Dassanech Tribe, who reside along the banks of the Omo River near Omorate. To reach their village, visitors typically cross the river using a traditional wooden canoe, offering a unique experience while observing the daily lives of the Dassanech people, who are known for their distinctive hairstyles, body ornaments, and pastoral way of life.

Following the village visit, we will return toward Turmi to attend the lively Dimeka Market. Held typically on Saturdays, this market serves as one of the main gathering points for the Hamar Tribe and neighboring communities. It is a vibrant cultural setting where locals trade livestock, grains, honey, and handmade goods, providing an excellent opportunity to witness the rich traditions and social interactions of the Omo Valley communities.
  • Day 07:

    Arba Minch

We will begin the day by traveling north to Arba Minch, the largest town in southern Ethiopia. This scenic town offers beautiful views of Lakes Chamo and Abaya, as well as a lush groundwater forest. It is also located in a fertile agricultural region known for the production of cotton, fruits, and vegetables. Upon arrival, we will check in at the hotel and spend the late afternoon relaxing by the pool while enjoying the refreshing lakeside breeze.

En route, we will visit the traditional villages that form part of the UNESCO-recognized Konso Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site. In the highlands, we will explore individual villages, learn about the structure of Konso society, and meet Konso women artisans who are well known for their cotton weaving traditions.

In the late afternoon, we will continue our journey and check in at the lodge. The evening will be spent enjoying sunset drinks in a peaceful natural setting.
  • Day 08:

    Arba Minch

Today, we will enjoy a scenic boat trip on Lake Chamo, which is renowned for its rich wildlife and breathtaking landscapes. During the excursion, visitors often observe large groups of hippos, Nile crocodiles, and a variety of water birds along the shoreline. One of the main highlights is the “Crocodile Market,” where numerous crocodiles gather along the banks of the lake.

After the boat trip, we will visit the Forty Springs, locally known as Arba Minch Springs. This lush groundwater forest gives the town its name, meaning “forty springs.” A walk through this green environment offers a refreshing experience, with opportunities to see monkeys and various bird species while learning about the natural springs that flow from the nearby highlands.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Dorze Highlands, a colorful community known for its distinctive beehive-shaped homes and traditional cotton weaving skills. Upon arrival, we will be guided by local women through the village, where we will share a traditional Dorze meal and learn about their way of life. The visit will also include a traditional Dorze dance performance, and guests are welcome to participate, creating a fully interactive and memorable cultural experience.
  • Day 09:

    Addis Ababa

The following morning will be at leisure at the lodge in Arba Minch, providing time to relax, reflect, and share memories of the remarkable experiences throughout the Omo Valley. Guests may enjoy the peaceful surroundings while recalling the diverse cultures, vibrant markets, and unique tribal encounters visited during the journey.

Later, we will take a commercial flight back to Addis Ababa and transfer to the hotel for refreshment. The final evening will be spent at a local traditional restaurant, where authentic dishes, live cultural performances, and warm hospitality come together to create a memorable farewell celebration of Ethiopia’s rich culture and spirit.
  • Day 10:

    Addis Ababa

After a final breakfast together, the group will be transferred to the airport. Farewells are warm and heartfelt, as each traveler departs with strengthened bonds, a renewed sense of spirit, and unforgettable memories of Ethiopia.
